This happen from a incident recorded in Luke 7:36-50...
just to give some background of what happened...
Jesus was invited to a pharisees(priest) house for a meal, a woman in that city got to know about it and thus she brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil. she washed jesus feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair and later annointed it with the fragrant oil. the pharisees said to jesus 'this man if he were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner'.
Jesus then answered in return with a story of 2 debtors.. one owed 500 denarii and other 50... and when both and no money to repay, the creditor forgave both of them... who would actually love the creditor more? i guess u can answer that.. of cuz the one that is forgiven more...
like wise the woman that has much sin was so humble to serve Jesus, washing jesus feet with her tears, hair, fragrant oil whereas no one else in that place did any of such thing. Jesus forgave the woman by saying ' Your sins have saved you!' Jesus was showing to the disciples that when much is forgiven, the more the person will appreciate it and love God...
looking at my life itself, thinking of so many of the sins i have done... no matter what i do i know i cannot redeem it by good works... it is only through the forgiveness of christ i am set free.. it just makes me realise that i am so imperfect that only god's perfect love can restore me.. i truly appreciate and love god more even as he forgives me and still love me unconditionally.
