Tammie,

Everyone is having lots of problems in their lives.
For instance,the mother,who thinks that presence of other races is the reason of her hardship;
the son,who's unwilling to leave his motherland;
the Malay girl,who can't buy a piece of chocolate only because she doesn't have 20cents.
Every people encounters sadness in their life.

However,life goes on as usual.
And we're going to face our lives as usual.

This is the meaning i got from this movie,it can be very subjective to different people.Well,Kak Yasmin's films need us to think deeply.

May my own interpretation helps you :-)

Thanks for sharing this clip. Think it shows that there's kindness in the heart of that kid. And yeah, agree with many people, we have lost a great person in Yasmin Ahmad. R.I.P.
